When Darkness Pressed In, I Refused to Bow

My story is not unique. Many have walked this same battle—the world pushing us away from Jesus, yet grace calling us home. We did not bow. Stand firm. Christ is worth everything.
There is something the world doesn’t tell you when you begin to follow Christ: the moment you turn toward the Light, the darkness notices.
When I walked away from mediumship and the New Age, I didn’t step into quiet acceptance or applause. I stepped into a storm. People questioned me, judged me, mocked me, and tried to analyze what “really happened.” Some wanted to scare me back into silence. Others became angry simply because I spoke the truth I had seen with my own eyes.
But here is what I learned through every tear, every spiritual attack, every moment of confusion and trembling:
Fear is one of the world’s loudest weapons — and one of Christ’s easiest to break.
The world will try to intimidate you into watering down your faith. It will try to shame you into silence. It will try to convince you that standing with Jesus is too costly, too strange, too uncomfortable.
But the cost of not standing with Him is far greater.
The Moment You Choose Christ, Everything Shifts
When you choose Jesus over the world’s approval, you begin to see reality clearly. The spiritual realm is not a metaphor; it is the battleground behind every soul’s story. And when you walk away from darkness, even unknowingly, the enemy does not clap for your freedom — he reacts.
I felt that reaction. Many do.
But fear is a liar. Christ is not.
Why I Refused to Bow
I refused to bow to fear because I had finally encountered the One who is Truth. Not an energy. Not a spirit guide. Not a comforting illusion.
A Savior. The Savior.
Jesus Christ broke chains I didn’t even realize were wrapped around me. He brought clarity where deception lived, peace where torment whispered, and authority where fear once ruled.
So no — I will not bow. Not to the world. Not to intimidate. Not to those who want me silent.
Someone Needs to Hear This
As I write this, I know with certainty that someone needs to hear these words. Someone is in a battle — spiritual, emotional, or unseen. Someone is being tempted to give up, shrink back, or stay quiet.
If that’s you, hear this clearly:
You are not alone.
You are not losing your mind. You are not failing God. You are not forgotten in the fight.
The same Jesus who pulled me out of darkness is with you right now.
Stand Firm — Christ Is Worth Everything
If you’re feeling the pressure from friends, family, society, or spiritual forces, remember:
Stand firm. Christ is worth everything.
He sees your courage. He knows your struggle. He stands beside you in the fire.
And while the world may try to fear you away from Jesus, it cannot take what He has sealed. It cannot undo what He has redeemed. It cannot silence the testimony He has written in your life.
Walk boldly. Speak truth. Hold the line of faith.
Because Christ is worth everything.
God be with you! By Marnie Hill
