 Marnie Hill: Guided by Grace

Helping weary hearts find healing, hope, and freedom in Christ

About Marnie — Guided by Grace

A Little More About My Story

I share this part of my story carefully, because true discernment requires honesty — and conversion is best understood through what God has brought someone out of, not what they claim for themselves.

I grew up in Western Canada and, from a young age, experienced a sensitivity that I did not understand and did not seek. Without proper spiritual formation or grounding in Christian discernment, I learned to cope with these experiences rather than interpret them wisely.

As an adult, this sensitivity became misdirected. Without a firm foundation in the Gospel and sacramental life of the Church, I began to interpret spiritual experiences apart from Christ. Over time, what began privately became public. For nearly two decades, I was known as a medium and spiritual practitioner within the New Age and secular spiritual marketplace.

At the time, I sincerely believed I was helping others. Though I identified as Christian, my faith gradually became shaped by practices and beliefs that I now understand were not aligned with the teachings of Jesus Christ or the Church.

Outwardly, life appeared stable and successful. Inwardly, peace slowly faded. What once felt neutral or helpful began to produce spiritual unrest rather than freedom.

Through prayer and grace, discernment began to awaken.

After stepping away from my former work, I entered a season of quiet surrender and repentance. While sitting in a Roman Catholic church, I encountered the presence of the Holy Spirit in a way that brought conviction without condemnation and clarity without fear. It was a gentle but firm call to return fully to Christ and to leave behind, permanently, the spiritual path I had built apart from Him.

This was not a rebrand.
It was obedience.

And it changed the direction of my life.

During this season, journaling became prayer. Writing became a place of honesty before God. Over time, I sensed a call to share my testimony — not to sensationalize spiritual experiences, but to point others toward truth, freedom, and peace in Christ.

Today, I write and speak to raise awareness about spiritual deception, to encourage discernment rooted in Scripture and faith, and to gently warn against practices often presented as “light” that can lead hearts away from Jesus.

My purpose is simple: to point people back to Christ — where true healing, restoration, and peace are found.

A Life Shaped by Words

I have loved writing since my teenage years. Through seasons of grief, transition, and renewal, writing became both refuge and prayer. Over time, I came to understand that words carry weight — they shape understanding, reveal truth, and can either wound or heal.

I am the author of three self-published books and devotionals, along with creative resources such as journals and card sets. Two earlier titles are no longer in circulation by personal choice following a season of discernment. My current and future work reflects a renewed commitment to Christ-centered truth and clarity.

I do not write as clergy or theologian, but as a woman who has been called out of spiritual confusion and restored by grace.

All writing, resources, and services are created and offered by me, Marnie Hill, through my privately owned imprint, By Grace Publishing.

Faith, Sensitivity, and Life in Christ

By the mercy and grace of God, I was called out of spiritual deception and drawn into the saving truth of Jesus Christ. I no longer seek supernatural experiences, hidden knowledge, signs, or extraordinary encounters apart from Him.

I do not attempt to communicate with the dead — because the dead do not speak to the living in the way our culture imagines, and what presents itself as such is not from God. I have stepped away from mystical pursuits and practices that conflict with Sacred Scripture and the teachings of the Church, choosing instead to root my life in prayer, truth, and a faithful relationship with Christ.

My desire is not spiritual power or special insight — it is faithfulness. I have come to understand that God is consistent and unchanging in His truth. What He warns against is not later permitted under a different name or circumstance. God does not contradict Himself. His guidance is given for our protection, our clarity, and our good, and my aim is simply to live in obedience and trust within that truth.

Where I once looked outward for spiritual answers, I now turn toward prayer, repentance, Scripture, and the authority Christ has entrusted to His Church. I remain a naturally sensitive person — attentive to environments, emotions, and the inner life — but I no longer interpret this sensitivity as a spiritual ability or identity. Instead, I understand it as part of my human temperament, something entrusted to me by God and gradually ordered through grace.

Through prayer, intercession, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, my sensitivity has become steadier and more grounded. I still feel deeply and can experience environmental or emotional difficulties, but I bring these experiences into prayer rather than allowing them to define me. What once felt overwhelming is now something I continually surrender to Christ. Sensitivity, when rooted in Him, becomes less about heightened experience and more about attentiveness shaped by humility, discernment, and peace.

Any awareness or understanding I possess today is not something I claim as a personal gift or special insight. It is formed through grace, purified through surrender, and continually entrusted back to God.

What remains is not mysticism — but attentiveness.
Not spiritual spectacle — but discernment.
Not secret knowledge — but wisdom formed by truth.

I seek Jesus Christ, not experiences. I trust Him alone with what He chooses to reveal.

Spiritual Vigilance and Discernment

The Christian life calls us to remain sober, watchful, and rooted in truth (1 Peter 5:8). Discernment is not about interpreting impressions or pursuing hidden knowledge. It is about guarding the heart, testing what is taught, rejecting what contradicts the Gospel, and remaining anchored in Christ.

True discernment does not draw attention to darkness or self. It produces humility, clarity, obedience, and deeper prayer. It leads not to fascination — but to freedom.

Prayer, Intercession, and Service

Rather than attempting to intervene spiritually or provide answers apart from God, I bring the needs of others before the Lord in prayer. Intercession is not an exercise of authority or control — it is an act of surrender and trust.

I entrust every burden, wound, and request to God’s mercy and wisdom, knowing that He alone heals, restores, and redeems. My role is not to replace God’s work, but to remain faithful, compassionate, and attentive to the ways He invites healing through truth, love, and grace.

How I Live and Work

When I am not writing, I continue to grow in my Catholic faith through prayer, Scripture, study, and quiet reflection. I am drawn to learning about Church history, the saints, and the true role of angels as servants of God — always through a Christ-centered and obedient lens.

I cherish peaceful walks outdoors, meaningful conversations, time with family and close friends, and moments of stillness with the Lord. I remain aware that sensitivity is part of how I experience the world, and I seek to steward it with balance and prayer.

At heart, I am a wife, a mother, and a believer seeking to live simply, faithfully, and attentively — trusting God in both the ordinary and unseen moments of daily life.
